Very moody, great use of reds and blacks.
I always laugh when Ewan McGregor tries an American accent. He's done a bunch of movies, and he's never once convinced me. But I can get past this minor irritation by having my eyeballs repeated assaulted with sultry images of Natasha Henstridge, Maggie Q and Michelle Williams.
Word to the wise: that trailer gives away quite a bit of the plot. So avoid the whole thing if you're dick allows you too. (Mine couldn't.)

Jackman's American accent, on the other hand, is spot on.

Jackman is spot-on. Period. He reminds me of Tom Cruise, without the huge ego.

You guys undermine
Tom Cruise
. I think of him as a brilliant actor, including the toothy grin and ego.

Oh, no, no, don't get me wrong. I love Tom Cruise as an actor. I'm constantly defending him here in my school; and I recently paid homage to this underrated actor. (Working on a surprise for you guys. Will post it, hopefully, soon.)

OK, to clarify my stand on this too (since everyone seems to be doing so), I also think that Cruise is a brilliant actor. It's a shame that his mega-celeb status (and more lately, his off-screen shenanigans and overtly vocal association with Scientology) constantly overshadow how gifted he is.

Oh what a piece of crap this turned out to be. The run of the mill suspense. But Jackman is still brilliant and the only reason I kept watching this. Not a lot of skin shown as it was expected, but overall pretty boring stuff.

Deception
(Marcel Langenegger, 2008)
When I started watching "Deception", I felt like I was watching a thriller from the 90s. It has everything that 90s thrillers had. Fraud and crime set in the business world, soft-porn scenes, and twists that might have been reasonably new in the 90s, but it was so overdone in that decade that, by now, a thriller's biggest twist would be if there was no twist. In that sort of situation, you'd go, "Wait, everything is exactly how it appeared to be? What a twist! Never expected that!"
The film's twists are only a surprise to the time-travelers from the 1900's who's idea of cinema was trains arriving at the station. For them, the twists in "Deception" would make their monocle fall of their eyes. Even the technology seems like it comes from the 90s. Under pressure and threats, the nerdy good guy (Obi-Wan) is transferring millions to the charming bad guy (Wolverine). The make the scene full of tension, while nerdman is transferring the money, he gets interrupted. While he gets to continue his work, the screen says that the connection will close in so-and-so seconds, and it is counting down. And when he clicks the transfer button, the transfer looks like a download bar, with the music treating it like a suspenseful scene. But this film was made in 2008. Transferring money from one bank to another does not need a download bar. He's not transferring uncompressed gay midget firemen porn in mpeg format. He's transferring money, from one bank account to another, from a corporate office. Even my shitty connection in Iran doesn't need a download bar for when I transfer money for my drug habits. Such computer bullshit worked back in the 90s, because no one knew much about computers. But in 2008, transferring money from one bank to another is something so basic that only the aforementioned time travelling 19th Century Gentlemen would be at the edge of their seat.
Also, if you make your way through the end of the film, you are rewarded with an ending so moronic, that a cannibal rapist visiting the scriptwriter will be a cause for celebration the world over.
