Prey (Roodt, 2007)
IMDB Link

Stupid people in horror movies are almost an important part of it. Usually, we do not complain and the reason is that there is nothing more satisfying than seeing stupid people in horror movies, make stupid mistakes, and die horribly. It’s just absolutely delicious to watch.

Now, this is something that “Prey” does not know. Because it has stupid people make stupid mistakes, and NOT DIE. And these are not stupid, sexy teenagers in an abandoned cabin that are at least somewhat fun to watch. No, we get to watch a preteen boy, a teenage girl, and their new step-mom, stuck in a car, in the middle of an African safari, surrounded by hungry lions that want to eat them. They not only are extremely annoying to watch, but they also make the most idiotic, painfully moronic decisions they could make.

And if that wasn’t enough, the step-mom wants to connect with the teenage daughter, but the teenage daughter blames her for her dad’s separation from her mom, so you also get a crappy family drama movie. I think I’ll just quote an IMDB user, “A sappy G-rated movie about connecting with new step-parents, but with lions!”

The movie’s only saving grace is that the lions are fun to watch, and they eat unimportant characters once in a while, so that’s cool.

2/5

I like how they made sure Bridget's nipple made it to the poster. Man, now I don't blame that lion!

If it were all in the script, why make the film? - Nicholas Ray
