I'm with Oddy on this. I downloaded the E-book sometime ago, but something about reading a book on your PC or PDA just plain sucks! I've done in the past though, when times were rough and money was hard to come by, but now I'd rather pay for the books I read.

I read it on my imate, because it is extremely convenient. I read it the toilet (any toilet, not just my house), I read it while stuck in traffic, I read it if I'm waiting for something (client to come, washing my car, etc), while at the office, in the car if Im parked somewhere, in the restuarant when Im waiting for my food, and so forth.

All these makes ebook, not only convenient but in a way, important to me. Once you get used to it, you are able to fill your time with doing something useful, instead of doing nothing.

I know what you are saying Mad...I've done all these things with Ebooks on my PDA, but somehow, reading books should not be something I do while waiting for the traffic lights to go green. I like to relax with a book, turn the pages, you know...that sort of a thing. Its a long debate and to each his own i guess.

I guess I understand that, but Im terrified by the idea that my days can go on without me doing something at very single instant.

On average, I probably spend 3 hours a day in traffic (sometimes less, sometimes more). Thats 1068 hours per year, which is 44.5 days!! Fuck that.

Thats also one of the reasons I dont listen to crappy radio programs anymore. If Im not reading ebooks, I listen to BBC, or albums Ive downloaded

And about the video conference, we'll do this in the flesh...soon!

What, you're a webcam stripper now?

All joking aside, I'll save my arguments until AK pays us a visit here in the Land of Humid. This should be an interesting debate if all people involved in the discussion here participate. Even better if more people join after reading the book.

Why not? Almost all of us here are avid readers, and we already have a forum. It's the next logical step, Captain.

Well, we can barely organize ourselves for movie watching!

The book club thing was given a try in the previous forum. It died a slow, painful death.

The Fountain.

Hahaha! I admit you're right about that one.

OK, so we'll keep our discussions here in the Paper Mill.

I still want to have that over-dinner discussion about The End of Faith when ak pays us a visit.
