Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (2004)
IMDB Link

“Garth Marenghi's Darkplace” is one of the funniest shows you’ll ever see. The idea is that in the 80’s, a TV show was banned in UK, and now a few episodes have been restored, and released for the first time in two decades. That back story is fully fake, but the crew behind it pretends otherwise. So we have six episodes of a show made to look like it was made in 80s, with really bad dialogue, acting, and special effects, full with behind the scene interviews (with actors playing the actors playing the characters).

This fake 80’s show is about doctors in a hospital where supernatural things happen, and the doctors carry guns! What makes it funny is how much effort they have put it to make it as obviously bad as possible. Even the starting theme is great. The main doctor, Rick Dagless, is holding a baby and running away, while suddenly an AMBULANCE EXPLODES BEHIND HIM.

Just listening to the (fake) director talking about his show is funny enough,
“With this show, I wanted people to laugh and cry... and shit themselves all at the same time.”

“I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards”

Ha ha, brilliant!

I will make time to see this because (a) I love the 80s, and (b) This is essentially about filmmaking...bad filmmaking!

THere is a lot of stuff there that people who love filmmaking, like us, would love. Like zooming in to close, bad cuts, etc
