Jackie Chan Drunk at Concert (video)

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Jackie Chan blames Hollywood for his drunken stage invasion at a recent concert.

The martial arts star has accused movie bosses of ruining his musical ambitions and Chan was so desperate to prove his vocal talents he jumped on stage at a Hong Kong show.

He is quoted by America's New York Daily News newspaper: "I always wanted to be a singer, and I still try to get my singing included in films.

"I sing every time during the closing credits of my films, but somehow when the films get dubbed in English they also bring in a different closing singer for the credits - which is very disappointing."

The 'Rush Hour' actor admitted he was "drunk" when he caused chaos at the concert by jumping on stage and demanding a duet with Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee on Monday (10.07.06).

After asking for a duet, the 52-year-old actor tried to conduct the band and ended up stopping and starting the music several times.

As the audience began to heckle, Chan hurled insults back at them.

crienlish.com : Asked about a recent Hong Kong pop concert that Chan disrupted with a surprise, somewhat drunken appearance on stage, he said he's resigned to the fact that his actions generate news. "I'm used to it. I'll definitely be written about. I don't blame the writers," he said.

Chan appeared unannounced on stage at Taiwan singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee's concert in Hong Kong last month. He then insulted the band and replied to heckles from the audience with a coarse insult.

But Chan, who has apologised for the incident, expressed frustration at the level of attention it drew. "Everyone in the world has made mistakes, but it's just that we're celebrities. TV station managers, magazine editors, who doesn't drink, who doesn't get drunk?" Chan said.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
