Look at life and films, differently...

« on: August 14, 2007, 12:02:PM »

Madhuri Dixit is back! And how!

Looking fit at 40, she sizzles and does her classic moves, enchanting one and all in the recent teasers playing in the cinemas!

The movie is out in November this year...

I guess you need to be a fan to be able to appreciate this.

I agree. I couldn't care less if Madhuri magically turned 18 and did this. I'm just tired of Madhuri's typical performances.

What can I say? I am speechless!

When you watch this film you feel as if Madhuri never left... a goddess, dance maestro, expression queen, no one can touch her art as an all rounded actress...

Packed with energy, this film entertains beyond expectations, Madhuri shines in a role which is tailor made for her. She doesn't steal any one elses thunder, the sub plots are there to move the story along without hindering the pace, the songs are timed well and really grow on you... A story of how Dia (Madhuri) struggles to let the theatre where she blossomed (Ajanta) survive in a town which wants to tear it down, its filled with trials, tribulations, challenges on the prejudices in our small town society... A pure family film, it can be enjoyed over and over again...

Direction is great, a tight script, packed with humour and wit, it is a movie not to be missed! Undoubtedly one of the finest movies this year, it comes a close second to Chak De...

With surprise performances from all the supporting cast, its a happy movie which leaves you content... Special mention for Konkona Sen, Vinay Pathak, Kunal Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna.

To say Madhuri was excellent, is like showing a lamp to the Sun... no amount of praise can do justice to her talent, which was sorely missed and is extremely welcome back on the large screen! Vaibhavi Merchant has redeemed herself with excellent choreography, capturing the pulse of a modern New Yorkan and a traditional small town girl.

The previous big movies which released earlier this month, Om Shanti Om (too long and dragged in places) and Saawariya (no day light relief and average story) make Aaja Nachley more enjoyable to watch, with its tight 2.5 hour entertainment and ample natural outdoor locales with a very simple and real approach.

I could go on and on, but you must experience the movie for yourself. Thanks to Yash Raj for bringing Madhuri back in a role which only she is built for... Welcome back Mads, hope to see a lot more movies with excellent roles where you continue to excel!
