Instead of stopping the WHOLE page just for the sake of one annoying avatar, go to Internet Explorer, Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > and under Multimedia, disable Play Animations in Web Pages.

Paint shop pro used to come with animation shop (i do remember installing it on your pc Tongue)
